Birth Doula Package
NOTICE: I am currently accepting clients with 2019 due dates. I am happily accepting Placenta Encapsulation, Postpartum Care, and Birth Education clients on a rolling basis. Please e-mail me for a consultation or more information.
I will attend hospital, birth center and home births within an hour of South Bend, IN.

Two prenatal appointments. About two hours each. Through these visits we can assess and discuss your individual needs and desires for your birth, and I am able to provide you with individualized, useful tools and information for your pregnancy, labor, and birth.

Unlimited Phone and E-mail Support. Phone call, text, and e-mail support 24/7 from the date I am hired until your final post-natal appointment. Contact me with any questions regarding your pregnancy, labor, or birth preferences.

Birth Plan Creation. Creating a birth plan is an excellent opportunity to learn about your options and to communicate your desires to your care provider and the hospital staff. Together, we will explore your options and the evidence supporting them, helping you to create a beautiful birth preference list that best suits your needs.

Continuous Labor Support. Physical, emotional and informational support for you and your partner – both at home, and in the hospital for the duration of labor and birth and for one hour afterward. This includes comfort and breathing techniques, massage, visualizations, and woman-to-woman support.

One postpartum appointment. Talk about your birth, assess how you are feeling both physically and emotionally and suggest any techniques that you may benefit from. Lactation support for any breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Resource Information. On childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenting classes near you. Lists of chiropractors, acupuncturists, and pediatricians, etc. tailored to meet your individual needs.

Breastfeeding support. Initial support on getting the first latch after birth. Troubleshooting in person at your postpartum appointment. Continuous phone, text, and e-mail support to answer any breastfeeding questions, ending at our last postpartum appointment.

Lending library. Access to borrow from my library of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding books.

Cloth Diapering Education. When applicable.

Baby Wearing Assistance. When applicable.
*Paid as follows: $200 deposit when contract is signed and remaining balance due by 36 weeks gestation.
Births attended more than 40 miles from south bend will incur an additional $100 travel fee.
Postpartum Care
$100
Add postpartum care to your doula package and take some of the "new parent" pressure off! This can be added to your doula package or booked separately. Nine hours total of my time, taken three hours per day on any day. Save it for when you are having "one of those days", or use it all in the week immediately following your birth. However you need! It's good to have this peace of mind. Some examples of postpartum care: watching baby while you nap or get dinner with your partner, assisting with grocery shopping, cooking a meal, attending a doctor's appointment, massage, laundry, dishes, or extra help breastfeeding. Placenta Encapsulation
$150. Doula Clients: $100
Safe transfer of your placenta from the hospital or birth place to me to process it into pill capsules for your consumption. Comes with a keepsake. Consuming your placenta has amazing health benefits such as boosting milk supply, balancing hormones, combating postpartum depression, and increasing iron stores. Tinctures also available for an extra fee.
Birth Tub Rentals
$150. Doula Clients: $100 (deposit required)
Reservation of an inflatable birth pool. I currently offer the La Bassine birth pool.

With all accessories: air pump, lead-free hose, faucet adapter, liner, thermometer, and water pump. Directions for set-up included. Pools are inspected and sanitized before and after every use. Disposable plastic liners keep everything sanitary.
